Maybe the Reich-wing extremists figured they couldn't get any more mileage out of calling everything CRT so they bastardized "woke".

Here's how it is with MAGA. They don't know what CRT is...they think CRT is a medical procedure. "Hey Ella Mae, the doc says I have to go in for another CRT scan." So from now on, the GOP vote whores have adopted "woke", hopefully to keep their imbecillic voters from being confused. Of course they don't know what "woke" actually means either, but it's simplified and designed for use with simpletons.

I guess there won't be any more Target employees lurking by the store entrance to "groom & indoctrinate" any children that might wander in.
By the time I was 10 years old I had already decided that "god" was pretty much a big fart in the sky. So when they added "under god" to the pledge, I just decided that I was not going to say it when I said the pledge. It's 60 years later and I still say the actual real old pledge, when I'm somehow forced to say it at all, which isn't often anymore.

Do schools still start the day with "the pledge"? About halfway through junior-high school I realized that everything after "... and to the Republic for which it stands" was total horseshit and I stopped reciting it. Teacher had a fit because I didn't stand so I did so, staring out the window until that nonsense was over. I was the only rebel in the class then.

That 'liberty' it speaks of should include the freedom not to participate in a patriotic indoctrination ritual.

I did about 2/3 of this parody ages ago, then by chance recently came across the file and finished it. I likely stole some bits from somewhere, don't remember now.

I hedge malfesance
on a jag
with the un-knighted mates of a dairy cow,
And who'da rub physics
for witch's hands,
one potion, made with grog, indescribable,
with bitter tea and crushed ice for all!
