Apple is now assembling its products (it actually their sub-contractors) in India.

Currently, iPhones are assembled in India by at least three of Apple's global suppliers - Foxconn and Pegatron (4938.TW) in Tamil Nadu, and Wistron (3231.TW) in Karnataka.

Apple has been shifting production away from China after the country's strict COVID-related restrictions disrupted the manufacturing of new iPhones and other devices in the country and also to avoid a big hit to its business from tensions between Beijing and Washington.

If I am not mistaken, they have operations in three adjacent states in South India. Not having been to India in over four years, do not have much direct knowledge. Also I have heard that they also have been looking at Cambodia & Vietnam though their expansion into other countries in Asia is via their Taiwanese manufacturing partner Foxconn.
