Rob Reiner @robreiner

Joe Biden takes the first major step towards bringing Covid-19 under control. He asks that we all wear masks. Finally, a President who cares whether we live or die.

Utah's Repube governor declares emergency, issues mask mandate: ‘We cannot afford to debate this issue’

https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...mandate-covid/

Quote:
For months, even as coronavirus cases have dramatically risen in his state, Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert (R) has refused to order residents to wear a mask. But on Sunday, after the state’s worst week yet and amid fears that hospitals could soon be overwhelmed, he reversed course.

In a video posted to Twitter late on Sunday — which Utah residents were alerted to watch via an emergency cellphone alert — Herbert also declared a two-week state of emergency and announced a spate of other restrictions aimed to curb infections, which the governor noted are “growing at an alarming rate.”

“Our hospitals are full,” Herbert said in the clip. “This threatens patients who rely on hospital care from everything from covid-19 to emergencies like heart attacks, strokes, surgeries and trauma. We must work together to keep infections low until a vaccine is available.”
Finally, Repube "leaders" are being forced to speak the truth. Maybe they'll finally admit that Donny is responsible for the disaster, and speak up about his losing the election, too. Not holding my breath...

The other Repube governors will say "it's not necessary in their states"...
until it is.

Nailer, sorry I'm not being deliberately obtuse but I am not sure what you mean. My point is that comparing precautions for COVID to swimming pool safety is a false analogy, in about a hundred ways.

Have you changed your mind about COVID now that almost a quarter of a million Americans have died? Or is it still just a hoax. I suppose 911 was just a giant conspiracy as well and no one died in the twin towers.
According to the CDC, 6% of the "deaths with CV19" are actually deaths FROM CV19. You may think my comment was stupid, but it is statistically accurate. The key point is that one is under the age of 25.

That's why I find it comical that the most frightened and obedient mask wearers out there seem to be people under the age of 30.

Here is some background for the "stupidest thing you ever read."

As like most coherent who will admit openly. Fear the thought of contracting it seems daily the virus. Dropping one's guard that one time or from the irresponsible actions of someone taking little heed or precautions.

Just in the last few days informed of a family we know going though the virus a second time. Four are in the hospital presently. One was just placed on hospice with a week expected.

I see nothing comical about fearing contracting a sickness shown plenty capable of causing death.

Or be busy with other stuff. I don't live here. I come here - occasionally.

And you might consider this - perhaps my arguments are not as stupid as you think. Perhaps they simply fly in the face of your own indoctrination. It's not an attack on you. It is me speaking from my own experiences as a young man and, though more rarely, even as an older man. Every now and then my paradigm's are blown up and I have to re-evaluate everything I predicated on those paradigms.

You know you are on to the truth when you start making accurate predictions (similar to how a scientist makes predictions when doing experiments to verify a theory). Like when a car crashes in front of your house at 2:00 on Saturday morning and the cop predicts that the car will be reported stolen, even though the owner was driving - and it IS reported stolen. And yes, that actually happened in front of my house 30 years ago.

I've been vindicated so many times in the last 15 years in political forums with my "predictions" like the one the cop made that it has gotten a bit comical. That's why claims I'm stupid, or a bot, or a troll just role off my back. I know what I know, and I know my track record.

Heck, I was permabanned from one site a couple of years ago for suggesting that we could be headed for a type of civil war in this country. Yet here we are.

When someone tries to insult me, I just consider the sourc. Usually I just see them are a little kid, that doesn't really know much, looking up at me and saying, "Mister, you're stupid!".

I'd worry more about the flu - and very few wear a mask because of that. When I see young people in masks, I see Mr. Monk. YMMV

Una vida vivida con miedo es una vida a medio vivir

Americans don't live in fear. That's more of a European thing.

“just role off my back”

Educated, widely-read folks simply don’t make 3rd grade grammatical errors like this. The Insane clown clearly isn’t educated. Ignore the fool.
