The land Israel comprises was never unoccupied to begin with. Had original owners. They who were there of different religions have been there since the area was originally populated.
So just because their God promised them the land does not make it so to others believing in yet another God!
The Palestinians need a home too! One that can support them.

They had the best opportunity with Ehud Barak in 2000 to gain statehood , but Arafat walked away from it.

You guys make it sound like the Six Day War never happened. The "public in the West" is not collectively of the opinion that this is aggression, so let's dispense with that too.

The position of the UN Security Council as expressed by the resolution is that settlement of the occupied territories are a violation of the Geneva convention: if a country occupies a territory that was gained during armed conflict with another country, that country must protect the citizens of the other country in that occupied territory. There are some exceptions to that part of the Geneva Convention, and Israel's position is that the individuals that live in the occupied territories aren't covered by the Geneva Convention.

The US and Israel have had their disagreements, but the US has always vetoed any resolution in the Security Council that might negatively reflect on Israel. The understanding between US and Israel for years has essentially been that any dirty laundry doesn't get aired in the Security Council, and is the subject of diplomatic discussions. Obama and company have apparently decided to change that in a rather gutless, petulant maneuver by simply abstaining from voting on the resolution.

It's about time the US stopped sucking Israel's dick.

The US government is more interested in protecting Israel than taking care if it's own citizens and infrastructure. That's not right.

Blather. The US has strategic interests that are supported by a strong relationship with Israel. They don't like everything that we do and we don't like everything that they do. But maintaining a strong diplomatic, military and intelligence relationship continues to be vital to US strategic interests. Leave it to Obama and company to try to piss that away.

Blame it on Obama. Why then does a lame duck POTUS Obama sign 30 Billion in welfare to Bibi.
I think that doesn't affect the 3 Billion we give Egypt and Israel to be nice to each other.

Classic. Here we see the term "security interests" used as a gittering generality.

I could care less about Israel. I see them as international shit disturbers; bullies, kinda like how the US of A became about 40 years ago.

I would rather my tax dollars be used to help my own people and my own country.
