Trump loves Putin because he said nice things about him. A President Trump will continue to try to curry favor with Russia, for among other reasons, as payment for services rendered and stand clear while Putin re-establishes the Russian Empire. This is the reason for Putin's rapprochement with Erdogan, the reassertion of the Russian/Ottoman axis that formerly controlled Eastern Europe, Western and Central Asia and much of the Middle East. Meanwhile, Trump will damage the US diplomatically and politically in ways that Bush/Cheney could only have dreamed of. He will fracture our society as badly as or worse than the Civil War ever did.

A weakened and demoralized US is in Putin's interest. Again, why wouldn't he want this?
