Good lord, this article makes me laugh. Looks like a product of the old Soviet Politburo. This article take a disconnected factoids, connects them together with a strawman, and then tried to use that as a foundation to make a editorial opinion. Bravo.

The only facts that might exist in this article are the financial challenges faced by the media in the brave new world of the internet. Here's the factual story behind the $20B debt and what the hyperventilating author of the article called "crawling to a judge":

Yes, the company has debt and creditors that want an ROI. But the challenge here is that the company is having a challenge making its streaming content profitable. Sound familiar?

Also, if you look at iHeartmedia's content / radio stations, a very small percentage of them are talk radio. Of those that are talk radio, most but not all of that content is conservative talk radio. Mostly because liberal talk radio fails to attract an audience. Remember AirAmerica, the "network" that had at its zenith 66 outlets and staid afloat by getting bogus loans from Boys and Girls Clubs?
