Yep this album is the kind you don't want to end, I love the whole thing but really like Dead Brains, Cought Up.

PS:$18.00 for the record with download card of the full album.

Gerald Neers Organ Works, recorded from "Pipe Dreams" on NPR last winter.

I have always loved pipe organs. It's an awe inspiring sound.

It takes an extraordinary system to reproduce the sound well.

What are you using. if you don't mind?

In the chain used to reproduce this..................

Recorded FM signal from a Dynalab MD-90 with upgraded RF coil to a Revox A77mkIV at 7.5 ips.

Played back from same deck through a McIntosh MA6900 (200 wpc) and speakers made by............

ME.

Basically,

2.5-way, 2nd order crossed over at (IIRC) ~1800hz and 1st order at 15,000hz

15 inch Dayton woofer

1" PRV Polyamide Compression driver mounted to Dayton Audio waveguide.

Fostex Supertweeter.

It's a 2.5 way because the x-over to the supertweeter is high pass only. The waveguide starts to roll off naturally at around 15khz.

The woofers are in a 3 cu.ft . trapezoid Baltic Birch box with 2-4"x 10" flared rear vented ports.

Audyn and Dayton 1% caps used. Jantzen air coils.

I should be getting useful output down to ~30hz through the mains.

The sub is a Dayton Titanic III 15" driven with a 500 watt plate amp. Useful output down to 18hz.
