The rights of citizenship are the same, regardless of whether by birth or by naturalization.
As to going out of one's way, that's a trick question, isn't it?
But if we're talking about few people who come here undocumented
for the purpose of gaining citizenship for their children, the answer is easy. In those cases, citizenship is automatically conferred on the child. Not only is it automatic, but it's free. The process of naturalization takes time, effort and not a little bit of money.
By the way, native born Americans can have citizenship revoked too.
