If you and your spouse can scrape 100k a year you can survive but it is not like making a 100k in Alabama. What makes me mad is that I am taxed at the same rate as a guy making 100k in Alabama but that income goes farther there. I feel I should get a federal tax subsidy since the 15k in taxes I pay support all those red states sucking on federal benefits. Like Alaska.

Can we put a paypal button in our posts for donations? My life would be a lot better of course if all those BART trains had a robot driving them instead of a human.

We're at 50K and it's comfortable here.

100K puts you in the Rhett and Scarlet class around here.

So it looks to you. Someone actually getting 100K will insist they are just getting by, and you'd have to have 250K a year to be really well-off. Etc, etc.

The Right loses interest in the living child after the birth when the fetus becomes an infant, and seemingly then couldn't care less.
