When you're drunk, disorderly, and resisting, and the cops take you down, you're asking for a gash in your forehead when you hit the pavement. Every article we're going to read says Martese was "beaten". I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that any reporter who looks at this photo and writes that this kid was "beaten" is the author of inflammatory bullshit. Martese was beaten by the pavement. I hate to agree with dj, but he's right...Martese was beat up by gravity.

But OK. Let's say the facts come out that these cops are in the habit of over-reacting. Then they are. "Fucking racists", though? My ass. The cops who took my disabled brother down and put a gash in his forehead had no idea he was a Jew.

That Martese is black is incidental. They would have taken down a disorderly drunk white guy just as hard and just as fast.

PS - a couple of summers ago I was up in the attic rolling out an additional layer of insulation. When I got out into one of the eave areas I pulled my head up too close to the underside of the roof decking and raked a roofing nail across my head just above my hairline. The blonde took a picture of me...I looked just like Martese. Nothing bleeds like a hole in your head.
