Your assessment may be correct. OTOH, the flaming narcissists I've encountered online in the past had no ability to modify their behavior, regardless of feedback or other circumstances. This does not seem to be the case here. I see a person who indulges hostile feelings sometimes, and does try narcissistic 'punishing' of others sometimes, but nonetheless is generally in control of himself.
Every individual is an individual, and no label is ever going to be the whole story.
