Indeed. How dare he be incensed by the ways that whites have treated blacks over the centuries. He's got a hell of a nerve.

One thing about Wright, at least he speaks his mind. I'd rather have that than all the blathering politicians in the world.

See Barbara...when it's enforcing the law as opposed to armed defiance of the law...I don't believe it's stooping to their level. Not in the slightest.

The Waco compound was full of pedophiles. Everybody knew it. The people who still condemn the government for their action, knew it and still know it.

What were the authorities supposed to do...sit down at some fucking table and ask them nicely to stop raping 10 year old girls? The only way it was going to stop was to go in there forcibly and make it stop. What could the feds have done? Blockade the place and starve them out. Howell and his people were no different from Jim Jones and his people. As soon as they felt there was no way out of it the would have killed themselves and taken all the children with them. And they proved that when they set fire to the building.

There is more than one way to skin a cat.....

And, even if the gov has every legal right, the gov doesn't need the bad press a violent confrontation would generate.

Edit.... My comment refers to the current situation.... Not Waco.

I understand you weren't referring to Waco...but I don't see much difference in the behavior of any of these religious/survivalist/militia perps and their anti-government/while-I'm-on-the-dole bs. They know that the government is more humanistic than they are and after the bad press from Waco (because the only two things bad about Waco were the press and the fact that the adults murdered all the children), they're probably going to back away. As far as I'm concerned, whether it's a street altercation with the local coppers, or Ruby Ridge, or Waco...when you fire on the authorities at some point you're gonna get wiped. As long as it's the murderous adults getting wiped, I have no sympathy for them. And in these situations, if children are hurt, the blood is on the hands of their parents.

I can't believe you guys are still blubbering about Rev. Wright. Although I like it. All the while you were pissing and moaning about Wright, and Billy Ayers, and birth certificates, Obama was walking away with the election. You handed it to him on a silver platter. And all the while you had real issues that he couldn't crawl out from under. Two for instance:

1. His political hack Chicago connections, including his mentor Emil Jones, one of the great Chicago political hacks of all time. Obama was never a reformer...there was clear evidence but how much fun is that when you can be bleating about Bill Ayers.
2. His sweet kickback real estate deal with Tony Rezko (now a resident of the fed prison system).

But you guys just had to play the race card with Wright and the commie card with Ayers, and the moron card with birth certificates. So it turned out pretty good.

I suspect when you're trying to beat Hillary in two years, you'll be talking about blowjobs and Benghazi. And you'll have your ass handed to you on a plate, once again.

They can't talk about real and/or complex issues or their base will tune out. They feel they need to continue their dog whistle tactics.

I was posting those great points and a half dozen others on a predominantly right winger forum back in the late summer of 2008. None of the cons wanted anything to do with any of it. They just couldn't shut up about Ayers and Wright and birthdays...just like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin (ack!), and Beck.

It's when I finally realized how little your ideological bedfellows are interested in reason and how much they're interested in phony outrage.

Given the alternatives, we could've done a whole lot worse. Palin/McCain & Lyin' Ryan/ Romney? Oh, hell no.
