But I even went back for a short time in 2000 and supported McCain.
McCain in 2000 represented the last chance for the Republican Party to redeem itself. I supported his campaign, contributed to it, and I still have a McCain 2000 T-shirt in my closet.
But the South Carolina Primary did it for me.
That was were the nasty racist right wing really showed it's ass and I decided I was done with them for good.

When I left the plant on Friday morning, the rightwingers in the locker room were wishing each other a "Happy James Earl Ray Day" once again.
You know, racism, like a particularly nasty fart is hard to contain once it's bubbled up inside you. You can't hold it forever and if you let it fly in a crowd, everyone's going to know what it is despite your best attempts at denial.
