The first McCarthy in the 1950s was very evil...he smeared and destroyed many people and their careers. Today's version may not have accused others of being Communist but certainly views people who do not vote his way as "the other" and is not above providing moderate Republican names to Tea Party groups so they can target them in primaries. And this guy probably did more macro-economic damage to our economy than Tail Gunner Joe ever did, not that I am sticking up for Ted Cruz' political model.
