I have a compromise for you; If the actual rate paid averages ~16% rather than the official rate of 35%, why don't we just lower the offical rate to 22%, eliminate all deductions and loopholes and call it a day? That way, they get their tax cut, we get the revenue increase and everybody wins.

I'm actually with you in spirit on this, though probably for different reasons. And I'd like to see this tax policy applied to both corps and individuals.
