Treason? Laying it on kind of thick, aren't you?

If what I understand is correct, had I have been Stevens, I would have loaded up all of my people and come home.

And told everybody to kiss my ass.

But I was never someone who would do something stupid because I was told to.

I've heard all of the conspiracy theories spouted by the armchair quarterbacks on TV and I've never given much credence to their bullcrap. I didn't think you went for that crap either, Charlie. Rep. Darryl Issa is one of those punks who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Compared to those punks at least Steven's had the stones to do what he believed in. There were failures but who doesn't screw up, now and then? IMO Fox, Drudge and these other self entitled partisan hacks can kiss my ass until the investigation is done. No matter where the chips fall it isn't some fatal flaw to this President or any President. Just my 2 rubles...

It's a political football. Damn shame people had to die, but it happens all of the time.

Case in point.

Boss told me to climb in the bucket of a backhoe and go do some mindless task, and I told him to forget it. He finally got some rube to do it...but if it was such a good idea, why the fuck didn't he do it?

I don't put up with that shit, and I don't expect anyone else to do it either.

I don't have a hell of a lot of respect for people who try to get me to do something that they don't have the guts to do themselves.

And if I DO do it, and I ask for something, and they don't deliver...the deals off.

I can tolerate an idiot, so long as he's not going to kill or maim me out of stupidity.

Let's cut to the chase. If Obama refused fire support for these people who were dying, while he knew of the situation, does that meet with your approval?

It doesn't with mine.

Chas

What fire support? Fly a Spooky down from Afghanistan? I'm not looking to start up some argument before the facts are in, why are you?

Pardon my excessive curiousity but just where exactly would fire support have come from? If you are referring to the people in the consulate do you imagine for a minute that they would ask for permission to fire when being fired upon?

The premises that have been put forward in this thread so far have been so mindless it worries me for the future of this nation.

The premises put forth from many folks these days have me worried about the future of this nation.

We can start with ;

"Greed is Good".

The rest of the backwards and dangerous thinking flows from there.

If it were true, it would be problematic. However, it isn't remotely true outside of the fevered minds within the Faux bubble.

And, therein lies the crux of our demise.

No, I was suggesting that if the roles were reversed, Fox would be screaming treason. Fox would often refer to those questioning the Iraq war as disloyal or treasonous. The conduct in this case - compromising intelligence - is worse than conduct that Fox had in the past described as treasonous, but you would never hear them acknowledge that.

BTW, the source for the information upon which I relied was that liberal rag, the Wall Street Journal.

I'm not sure about your source of information, but as far as denying security, the WSJ article brings that into question. From that, it appears that the CIA had taken the responsibility for much of the security at the consulate.

Regards,

D-Ray
