We already froze Soc Sec benefits for a year under Obama. He also threatened to freeze it again in 2011. I don't recall gangs of gray-haired militants taking to the streets.
Of course, if anyone is going to miss the point of my post, it might be you. So let me be clear:
The Tea Party followers, and this is about the only way they were similar, were like the OWS crowd in one respect: different folks had different motivations to join in. There were some central themes, however. Like getting our fiscal house in order. Rejecting Obamacare. Like Biden in 1984, no more piling on of government debt via dubious government spending on things like the so called Stimulus. These are ideas that at one time resonated with many Democrats, as reflected in Biden's comments. His comments also demonstrate that the party the Joe Biden was part of in 1984 has moved very far to the left of where Joe was when he made those statements.
