I'm with you right up to the thing about the exit polls and the economy. This was always fairly transparent as a lame rationalization whenever it was cited as a motivation for a Trump vote. These people were mostly smart enough to know that the economy is largely pretty good, and if it isn't working for them personally, well, that's likely not Joe Biden's fault.

Rather, the Trump vote, in most cases, was never about anything more than making woke liberals cry.

And those who chose that path will be happy regardless of the economic consequences of their choice because they got everything they wanted on November 5th.
