Khanacademy.org is free, so there is no need for any of us to spend one thin dime educating kids that our not our own. The only reason countries have public schools is to have a more educated population than competing countries, giving them a leg up as a country. It's not about "helping people" other than to ensure they belong to a country powerful enough to protect the country itself and everyone living in it.

Regarding the Sports Arenas. I agree with you. However, I understand their reasoning. It's like the tax break Trump got for building Trump Tower. All those rich people moving in, more than made up for it. It completely changed that area for the better. Sort of like when the Tower Records store was built in a blighted neighborhood there. They were just not savvy enough to ask for the break.

And regarding helping those less fortunate, that is a big thing for Christians. But it is also called the law of giving and receiving. That is, the giver voluntarily gives, rather than compelled by the government at the barrel of a gun. That is never good. It is also interpreted differently by the receiver. Government has no place in it.
