Those same three officials were first identified as possible corroborating witnesses for Comey in a June 7 article in Vox.

"McCabe, 49, who had been the FBI’s No. 2 for slightly more than a year when the president fired FBI Director James B. Comey, was at the center of the political jockeying surrounding the investigation into potential coordination between Trump associates and the Kremlin.
The Washington Post reported in December that McCabe was planning to retire in March, once becoming fully eligible for his federal pension benefits. He is still planning to leave the bureau then, though he is stepping down as deputy director now." WP
