This is kind of a parallel post to what Pete wrote in the thread about Kent State. He abhors the act, but seeks to add perspective.
There is no excuse for murdering or attempting to murder countless innocent people in order to make a point. Nevertheless, I wonder what it is like to be Muslim in America.
Consider a couple of possibilities. The suspect was an agent of the jihad, and his task was to become a naturalized citizen of the US so that he would have a better chance to cause whatever havoc he could when his order came.
or
He came here with hopes and a belief that the American way would provide him with a better life. He became disenchanted or felt like an outcast because of his religion. That made him susceptible to the recruiting pitch of the radical Islamists.
BTW, the fact that he confessed after being Mirandized makes McCain look even sillier, doesn't it? (If that is even possible)
Regards,
