I don't think this would ever be a possibility with current technology. In-flight weather conditions requiring changes in flight path or emergency evasive maneuvers cannot be remotely managed I believe.
It may be possible with today's technology to disable cockpit controls and land the plane safely in case of a hijacking since most commercial aircraft are capable of landing automatically.
