Once you put 'die' into the equation you can justify anything.

Or can you? That's sort of the question. 'Anything' might include, for example, 1000 nukes on West Africa. You can think of it as the old public health tactic of dynamiting homes, writ large....

So quarantine if it is truly justified, and quarantine people that clinically need to be, but the only criteria can be danger of infection. Anything else is excess, and we need to avoid fear of death pushing us into panic and excess.
