U of C is truly one of the finest universities in the world. That said, it also a university where "fun goes to die." Lots of eggheads, little fun, I'm told (from several Physics alumni).

By the way, as I recall both Bill and Hillary were unable to get health care reform through Congress. Somehow, his poor leadership notwithstanding, Obama managed to get that done. As I recall, he got Osama too. Oh yeah, his economic policies kept 2/3 of the US auto industry from failure, and kept the recession from becoming a depression.
Obama is a serious person who contemplates issues, understands the data, and operates on the basis of his understanding. Some people want to portray that seriousness as arrogance. It doesn't bother me that my President doesn't have Bubba for a nickname.
Regards,
D-Ray

No, but I'd certainly like more information on the subject.

No, what is common is the left to scream racism at any criticism of Obama.
I do not care that he is black any more than I cared about Carter's race. There are plenty of black people, albeit evidently not known by Beiden, that are worthy of respect.

There are plenty of graduates being produced by prestigious universities that utterly lack common sense and/or an ability to lead. There are also those that are too specialized or "focused" to ascertain a strategic vision. I do not recall stating that Obama lacked intelligence, but rather, that by his own actions and statements he has demonstrated a lack of qualities necessary to be an effective leader. Similarly, I do not think Carter lacked innate intelligence, but instead just couldn't lead.

Tell me where he has ever demonstrated great leadership ability. Christ, he let Nancy and Harry define the healthcare debate. Osama just happened to come up on his watch. Arguably we'd be in less of a mess without the tinkering wrt the economy. BTW, almost all his actions point to decisions initiated or made by others. I'll take Bubba any day over the current indecisive, lackluster, arrogant Obama.

He was a lecturer there at UChicago. Can you refer me to any of his academic law papers? Can you suggest some cases where he was the attorney? Some twelve years as an academic and not a single paper? Why? I'd be willing to bet that if we looked up all the current UChicago law faculty, we'd find that every one of them has published at least a single paper.
I do agree that in the rarefied world of academia UChicago would be considered more conservative than most institutions.

If Obama isn't a liberal, how come he voted like one in the Senate?

Because of the demands for party discipline on both sides of the aisle (which sucks, IMHO). You cannot get ahead in today's partisan politics by voting your conscience (ask the lady Senators from Maine or Scott Brown in MA, for example).
