What it takes to roll with the big boys.
Minerals, magnets and military capability.

Good luck to anyone entering the area of manufacturing modern weaponry.

Middle-class Americans' living standards 'in decline at this point' as inflation outpaces wage gains

But… but… Repubes are better at the economy, right?

The middle class has been in the decline for decades. The financialization of the economy ensured that. Quantitative Easing following 2008 crisis was a major driver; as those closest to the massive money printing were in a position to easily transform fiat into assets. Those who were not close to the unrelenting money printing encountered the affordability crisis. That is trappings of the middle, such as reliable transport, shelter, education, became extremely unaffordable.
A characteristic of the time huge debt: credit card, car, education and surge in Buy Now Pay Later.

The major driver, comrade, was Ronnie's "trickle down economics", which made the rich much richer, destroyed the labor unions that made the middle class in the first place. Repubes have ever since worked to give more and more to their rich donors while hollowing out the middle class, and taking benefits from the poor. SCOTUS has been right there helping the Rs.

‘I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation,’ says Trump amid Iran talks
With US inflation at a three-year high, US president insisted he’s not focused on economic hardship sparked by the conflict

Yes, we're well aware, Donny. Yet fools still support you. Some here even think you're "smart". Idiots.

The Iran operation is really an attempt by Trump to deny China's access to ultra cheap oil. Oil which China has been storing in a frenzy. The operation is couched under the perennial nuclear denial mantra.
The part, for which many years Trump has shown consistency: In confronting Mercantilist Overcapacity, he is not overly concerned with short term pain.
