For the First Time in my Life, I'm Afraid for Our Country

Although I was only 10 at the time, I can remember the fear I felt during the Cuban Missile Crisis, but that feeling ended up passing after a couple of weeks.

That crisis was a threat from an external source.

The one we're experiencing now is from an internal source, and it feels much scarier.

I don't believe that for a second. The US military IS decaying along with everything else, but I just don't think it's that far gone.

Good to hear!

Not the rank and file but I'm starting to worry about the leadership. First Flynn taking money from Turkey while he was the NSA, then the 2022 Post article on retired military talking very lucrative jobs from other countries upon retirement. I realize this has been kinda part of 'retirement' but still could be ugly IMO and mirrors the general coarsening of our society, again IMO.

I remember Bush Jr was going to stage a coup, then Obama, then Trump 1 (he did kinda try), I don't think anyone thought the Kamala was but then, she wasn't a serious player to begin with

Trump doesn't need the military. He's got ICE. He just needs the military to not interfere. That's pretty much what they think they are supposed to do. So no problem with the military.

It must also be noted that the military is willing to blow up foreigners when ordered, no questions asked. Three boatloads so far, AFAIK.
