I drove this Chinese EV, and it's just another example of the trouble Tesla is in

Here is some interesting news about Tesla. Musk overruled his management team and opted to go with robo taxis (he calls them Cyber taxis) instead of a new lost cost model. Only new vehicle they have developed in the last five years is the Cybertruck which is now a total disaster, they have more in inventory than buyers.
So here is how the Musk robo taxi model is supposed to work. Tesla sells their cars but somehow shares profits from each ride. Their goal is to make money not just selling the car but also on the rides the vehicle makes during it's lifespan estimated to be about five years or in numbers, 3X to 5X of the cost of the car in additional revenues. I would love to take peek at that agreement just for kicks.
The dumbest thing is that his robo taxis do not have a steering wheel, so don't expect to find them in Carmax parking lots once their half life is over. What a joke. Fortunately for Musk, chances of Tesla actually developing an autonomous vehicle is zero to none according to Waymo.

Funny how China's becoming an EV juggernaut after Tesla built a plant there. Smart people sure can be dumb.
Tesla has a trump card up its sleeve ( ) - it has access to SpaceX's technology. Elon may be blathering all over the place, but Tesla's stock is still way, way higher than it was a year ago.

I think Tesla has become a meme stock. At its peak, its P/E ratio was 1,120 and is now 118 whereas the average P/E across the S&P 500 is ~20.

Hey Finn! Hope you're doing well
Agreed it's crazy. And, insulting your main customer base probably isn't a great sales move :/

China's biggest EV company who were funded by Warren Buffet when they ventured into the EV market, originally was started to make knock offs of rechargeable batteries made by Sony and Sanyo. Now here they are leading the field making a huge push to sell their vehicles worldwide.
Trivia: BYD assembles Electric buses in California but they cannot sell their cars in the US and Canada but do in Mexico.
