I donīt have any anxiety of "what happens if I lose my job, or if I get sick, maybe even so sick that I canīt work any more?"
Because the system that I pay/paid into will take care of me . It wouldnīt be a life of luxury, but we would always have a roof over our heads, food to eat, and medical care.
I am mentally relaxed, and can just enjoy life.
A few more benefits of living in Germany:
No "Hire and Fire" work situation. The longer you work somewhere, the longer the termination notice time is. I think after 10 years or so, the forewarning time is over 6 months. And they cantīt just fire you just because. The have to have a very good reason.
When you rent an apartment, so can stay there your ENTIRE LIFE. Not get kicked out at the end of every month. There are exceptions to this, but are too lengthy to explain here.
All full time workers get at least 4 weeks of paid vacation; most get 6 weeks, though.
When I get sick, I donīt lose one cent of pay. Only if I am sick for longer than 6 weeks at a time would my pay stop coming from my boss. I would then get 60% of my pay from the health insurance company.
Thatīs not much, but much better than nothing
Ok, itīs not so easy to own a gun here. You have to be a hunter or a member of a shooting club. But I donīt feel the need to own. one
