The BS article relies, in its specific claims, on the yellow journalistic trick of amplifying questionable claims by uncritically 'quoting' a source. In this case the source is not the petition that others signed, let alone a peer-reviewed study, it is an 'open letter' from Dr. Aseem Malhotra. As the only individual named in the article, this celebrity doctor must be considered an example of the 'leading docs' refered to in the BS headline. I looked Dr. Malhotra up on Wikipedia, and the article there paints a stark picture of a pop diet doctor whose claims and methods have been highly criticized by other professionals. Malhotra's diet endorses heavy use of saturated fat.
The Wikipedia article can be summarized by quoting its first and last sentences. It begins by noting that Malhotra "...became well known during the COVID-19 pandemic for spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccinations." And it concludes by observing "In September 2023, Malhotra received the Rusty Razor award, a prize given to 'the year’s worst promoters of pseudoscience'."
