Greetings and Salutations! (An Update)

Hey Guys, it's been a long time and much has changed!

Relaxing after a night of stargazing, I decided stop in and say HI!
How is everybody?

Me? Well, I finally went and did it, I collected up all of my stuff and my retirement savings, quit my job and left the Old Dominion and Dixie for good. I am now back in the Buckeye State, among my large and extended family, working on reestablishing ties and helping care for elderly siblings*.

It has been a rough road, these last eight months. My decision was quite sudden and rushed. I have no qualms with the Commonwealth of Virginia or any of the fine Americans who reside therein, I just simply could not stand the separation between my family and I any longer. Upon hearing of my Brother #2 Johns health issues and how bad it has gotten, I decided the time had come.

Anyhow, I am home now and save for the heart condition** I have accrued in recent months, doing well. I sold the house in VA, bought a new to me home in my hometown of Newton Falls, Ohio and gotten settled in. This house is small but nice and had been recently flipped. However, there is still much to do to get everything up to my standards and desires. So, I have been doing electrical work, plumbing, fixing messed up door hardware, landscaping and I will soon be replacing a double paned window that leaked and fogged up. Hopefully, the paver I hired will be around next week to put in my new asphalt driveway. Work was supposed to start on Tuesday but, it rained for a solid day and a half and put him behind. He did stop by to reassure me he's intent on getting it done soon. I appreciate that.

Dave

(*At 60 years old, I am the last of seven with eight years between my youngest sibling, Eric, Brother #3, and myself. My oldest Brother, Ed, Brother #1, will soon be 80.)

(**In February, I went to see my PCP concerning exhaustion, fatigue, inability to sleep and depression. At first, I thought I was just tired and stressed from the move, but it continued to worsen until I started getting dizzy and had trouble catching my breath. To keep it short, I went to see the Doc and she sent me to the nearest ER. It turned out to be Tachycardia with underlying A-fib. I was getting ready to have a heart attack. They also discovered I had Sleep Apnea. So, after two days under observation, an IV drip, and a shock, I was released with new prescriptions and a CPAP machine. Such fun........).

Welcome back, Dave. Once one enters the second half century of life, some ailment or another is ultimately gonna rear its ugly head. Hopefully, your doctors and you will get things fully under control.

Welcome back.

Sadden to read of your current issues. Yet it sounds you are doing what is needed to be better and able to enjoy the rest of your life.

I like anyone you most likely will meet have issues to deal with. Yet know if by looking around will see others far worse then I dealing with life aging gifts.

Take the advice given by the pro's and move on with the now new normal.

Hey Dave, good to hear from you. Had that Afib stuff five-six years ago. Finally got in to a good heart doctor and he immediately recommended catheterization and ablation. It is expensive and not without risk, but if your insurance situation will support, look into it. My experience was problem gone, period. Take care!

NIce to hear from you.
I have heard that Ohio is still not too expensive as far as homes go, unlike the rest of the USA.

If any of your current health issues are related to your service in the Navy you should put in for an increase at the VA (current medical treatment for a rated condition that has gotten worse will help get an increase if you are not maxed out on a rated disability...you probably know that already).

I hope you feel better and your health improves.

Hey, Guys!

Still alive and kickin'! Now that the weather has turned to crap, the skies are cloudy and it's too cold for working on the yard, my focus has swung around to audio again. Got out all of my DIY tube and speaker stuff, cleaned it up and got it working again in the basement. Nice, big space for a wide sound stage. Now, I just need a comfy couch to sit on, down there. Using camping chairs for now............a little hard on my back after extended periods.

Speaking of old stuff, check out; "Wooster Vintage Audio", it's a truly awesome little store packed full of amazing stuff...........

It does take some getting used to.

However, the first time you wake up, see something cool going on 100 miles away and just hop in the truck and go without having to even think about work or REQUESTING a day off................

You feel so FREE!
