Hope so especially with his ever mounting legal bills.
If he gets control of the RNC like he wants financial support of other Republican candidates will dry up. So the choice is theirs. Run and get steamrolled by campaigning Democrats or turn on tRump and get steamrolled by the MAGA horde.

The DNC sent me a fundraising letter yesterday, I tore it up and threw it away. I will always be a Democrat but I can't see throwing good money after bad. Let me explain. The party put all their eggs in one basket called Joe Biden. Biden, while being a good president, he is a bad fighter. The party underestimated the stupidity of the average voter while the GOP made bank on it. Joe spent four years playing the nice guy while the Republicans spent four years making him and them their bitch. The party let the GOP define who and what they are. Large swaths of the electorate felt that Biden didn't do much of anything at best or wrecking things at worse. Because the opposition spent four long years telling them that. The GOP, their agents and media outlets spent four years lying thei asses off and the Democrats did very little if any pushback. Also, IMO, the party being giddy over Biden's victory in 2020 again with their eggs all in one basket neglected to groom a successor. They failed to play the long game and failed to have a plan B. It seems like the party was afraid they didn't have someone who could successfully go up against trump in 2024. If the Democrats have any hope of bringing the country back from the era of trump they better stop doing the same thing and expecting different results. I'll continus to support local Democrats but the DNC better get it's act together before it's too late.

In a nutshell - Gerontocracy. The old folks in the US Congress do not want to step aside. There is a Senator who has been in the US Congress for 45 years. He is 91 years old! WTF.

Anyhow, anyhow in his departing address Biden left out the G word but finally mentioned the O word.

Here is an article that made a song and dance about the O word but omitted what is so essentially forbidden about the O word.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/progressi...ycsrp_catchall

NEW YORK (AP) — The Democratic Party's left wing has warned for decades that America is moving toward an oligarchy in which a handful of billionaires controls much of the nation's wealth and political power.

President Joe Biden elevated such concerns from the Oval Office for the first time this week, just before he leaves office. In the hours that followed Biden's farewell address, progressives responded with a combination of appreciation, bemusement and frustration.

“Now he tells us,” Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., wrote on X, referring also to Biden's ideas for the U.S. Supreme Court. “Biden speaks out against dark money, for climate action, and for SCOTUS term limits. I pressed four years for this speech.”

For much of the last four years, progressives were among Biden's biggest cheerleaders. And many remain supportive. But for others, the Democratic president's words were too little and far too late as the leader of a political party that has increasingly welcomed big-dollar donors even as it railed against President-elect Donald Trump's cozy relationships with others, tech titan Elon Musk chief among them.

___

Cooper reported from Phoenix. AP writer Isabella Volmert in Detroit contributed.

When you have one group fighting for healthcare for all, taxation reforms. Fighting against gun violence seeking humane solutions to peoples plight in life in general. The environment .....

Then another worried about pronouns used or what sex they feel comfortable as. Bathrooms... Have a sick love for firearms and violence with extreme anger. With hate filled enthusiasm towards it's expression. Have little concerns for others safety in a pandemic choosing not to wear a mask of have a vaccine....
Deny what is all to apparent with the current environment....

The DNC messaging does it seem to be dumbed down and be less high brow. Thinking it should be all too apparent when it plainly is not getting through.

I am not a registered Democrat but have been left leaning since the Bush II WMD debacle and the prime loan meltdown.

Obama was a breath of fresh air and I supported his candidacy but his second term was disappointing. Basic problem I see with the party is that the leaders are too old and or senile to lead. They latch on to bad policies like DACA and the student loan forgiveness that helps very few, but pisses off most. There are many other instances of "who cares" policies that appear to pander minority groups.

Sanctuary cities are yet another example of extreme pandering and this is protecting people who have broken the law by law enforcement personnel themselves. How does this make any sense in a "land of laws" as we brag to the outside world? I don't want to sound like a Trumper, but how can any rational person convince anyone that this is good policy to protect lawbreakers and what is next?

As for the future of this party, it should start with Pelosi, Schumer permanently exiting the party and let the younger generation guide the party, wherever they want to take it. Hold open primaries, selecting HRC and KH were disasters, a woman will not be elected president here anytime soon regardless what the polls say. As they are now, reminds me of the scene from Animal House, marching en masse into a blind alley brain dead.

The DNC underestimated the effect of constant misinformation (lies) from the Reich. They "thought" people would know better. Have they learned their lesson?

The 'pubs have been masters of controlling the narrative for some time, that's where the reaction should have been directed.

Precisely. One big lie has been flooded by many, many others.

From a report today, % of people who believe that the political system is broken:

US Adults: 59%

Democrats: 57%

Republicans: 63%

So did the Republicans convince the people that the system is broken or did they simply take advantage of the prevailing sentiment?

Many Americans who otherwise dislike President-elect Donald J. Trump share his bleak assessment of the country’s problems and support some of his most contentious prescriptions to fix them, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Ipsos.
