IL bans the banning of books in any library that receives State of IL grant money

Some might say this story should go in the "politics" forum. I'm thinking, fighting inane censorship and red state government violations of the first amendment is a current even that goes far beyond politics.

The fine print of Illinois’ ban on book bans

Thanks to Illinois Gov. Pritzker for stuffing this up the ass of nazi book burners who exist all across the fruited plain and from sea to shining sea in this once promising democratic republic. It's only effective in Illinois, but it's a message to nazis all over the country. Bans of certain books by Red state governments are direct violations of the First Amendment.

Quote:
Gov. JB Pritzker on Monday signed a bill that makes libraries ineligible for certain state grant funding if they don’t adopt the American Library Association’s Bill of Rights, or similar language, that says books shall not be removed from circulation because of personal, political or religious reasons. There were 67 attempts to ban books in Illinois in 2022, according to the American Library Association. Nationwide there were more than 2,500 attempts.
Be prepared people. Monkey trials are coming back.

A welcomed push back by the governor. I hope it spreads.

Recent biology test data indicates many students have been taught:

1. Varying genes do not compete, but work together to assure survival of populations.

2. Natural selection is random.

3. Changes in gene frequency do not arise from adaptation to changed environmental conditions, but are the undesirable results of mutation.

Same three wrong ideas cluster together on test. Couldn't figure out why until it struck me that some students receive 'Christian' education that denies evolution.

As far as survival of our species is concerned, males, who typically generate most of the problems, are biologically expendable.
