But they are legal so we have them. I do not disagree with anything said about setting limits. But taking them away from myself and Oerets, we have both stated we would comply with whatever, does nothing to address the root cause.
They are tools.
BTW, I qualified as a line coach and range officer in the Navy. And I shoot in my backyard, eff most ranges for the reasons given.

Meanwhile:
NASHVILLE -- Tennessee Republican Speaker Cameron Sexton's compared last week's House floor demonstration by two lawmakers over state gun laws in the wake of a deadly Nashville elementary school shooting as "at least equivalent, maybe worse" than the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S. Capitol.

and:
Floridians will be able to carry concealed guns without training or a permit after Gov. Ron DeSantis quietly signed a bill at a low-key ceremony with gun activists.

A bunch of feckin' nihilists.

I use a flintlock fowler for most of my gun hunting. I have done coyotes with my AR at my dad's. I typically bow hunt with a long bow.

We can't have that, can we?

“He has a battle rifle”: Police feared Uvalde gunman’s AR-15
In previously unreleased interviews, police who responded to the Robb Elementary shooting told investigators they were cowed by the shooter’s military-style rifle. This drove their decision to wait for a Border Patrol SWAT team to engage him, which took more than an hour.

If the cops are afraid of this “battle rifle”, it has absolutely no purpose in the hands of civilians other than mass murder.

The gun confiscation people will have to kick everybody's door in just to verify that people are being honest.
In Iraq, the US military allowed every household to keep a single AK-47 for self-defense.

The last was just better PR than forbidding them while having absolutely no ability to enforce the ban. Would have needed a million troops in country to kick in all those doors.
