Telling how not to long ago gargling bleach, Horse de-wormer were touted as the miracle answer to C-19. Little other then word of mouth and so and so read it on line to convince.

Yet years of shared experience at events and science studies modeling. They require more proof.

Hell, the GOP couldn't even come up with a party platform that went beyond cringe-worthy Trump fealty.

I'll find common cause with anybody who believes Trump (and Trumpism) is a malignant, corrupt and dangerous presence that must be expunged permanently from the body politic and oppose anyone who doesn't. Every other issue is secondary. It's as simple as that.
And you think there's such a thing as a moderate Democrat among party leadership? You don't think the Dem's agenda has moved increasingly left?

"Trumpism" is just the latest in a long history of boogeymen contrived by the left. Trump was pretty far from being among the best US Presidents, and most certainly had flaws. However, he's also pretty far from the demon that the never-Trumpers, Dems, and their media lapdogs have made him out to be.

I think we as a country have bigger fish to fry than Trump. I also believe that the left is doing everything they can to keep their narratives on Trump alive and well because the Dems have no success stories to point to.

That answers my question. Especially now, you cannot say that in good faith. You are a supporter of fascism and treason, whatever stupid games you play to try to avoid admitting it, to us and maybe even yourself.

I will never read another message of yours.

You’re always good for a laugh, Whell. Incredibly naive.

Biden is the quintessential moderate, though he has indeed been pulled to the left by the progressive wing of the party. As a moderate, this leftward pull doesn't reflect my personal ideology, but at least Democrats still believe in democracy and strongly oppose the Right's embrace of fascism.

I guess I could have been a bit more clear. Trumpism is actually a homegrown, domestic form of fascism - fascism with a large side order of crazy. IMO, Trump is worse than the media has made him out to be. The media's tendency to "both sides" issues, events and people in an effort to appear "fair and balanced" has given Trump a thin veneer of normality for those like you needing assurance that their Dear Leader isn't a malignant narcissist, pathological liar, amoral wannabe authoritarian and a very real threat to American democracy.

Complete bullshit on both points.

1. Trump himself is the one keeping the Trump narrative alive. His malignant narcissism simply doesn't allow him to fade from the national scene and dedicate himself to something useful (nor do the investigations of his rampant criminality in NY, DC, GA and FL). Instead he continues to rile up the rubes to assuage his insatiable ego. He, a self-proclaimed builder, could contribute his time and money to Habitat for Humanity, for example. But no! He'd rather whine about a stolen election and his unfair persecution while running principled conservatives from office in favor of lunatics and fascists.

2. Biden has the greatest record of legislative achievement in the first 18 months of his presidency in modern times, whether you (or I) like the legislation or not. This is particularly noteworthy considering Democrats' razor-thin majority in Congress. To wit:
  • Inflation Reduction Act
  • PACT Act (addressing veterans' burn-pit exposure)
  • CHIPS and Science Act
  • Safer Communities Act (first meaningful gun control legislation in 30 years)
  • American Rescue Plan
  • Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (something Trump promised nearly every week for 4 years)
  • Violence Against Women Act (allowed by Trump to expire)
All Trump got done was a ~$2 trillion tax cut for the big business and the wealthy.

Beyond that Biden:
  • Reestablished our traditional alliances, treaties (NATO, Paris Climate Accords)
  • Backed the right side in the Russia/Ukraine war (Trump called Putin's naked aggression there "genius," "savvy" and "wonderful.")
  • Reestablished America as a beacon for democracy and not ChristoFascism (as Trump did)
  • Presided over the year with the greatest job growth in American history and strongest GDP growth in nearly 40 years.
And these accomplishments pale compared to his greatest achievement - Denying Trump a second term and forestalling Trump's push towards a corrupt, violent ChristoFascist autocracy.
