I'm torn. Not necessarily about this case but in general.

In a prior life, I lived in Leavenworth, KS, and worked in prisons. There were, 100%, guys inside who no longer belonged there or didn't in the first place.

I'm not saying it applies here but it, certainly, does in an unbelievable amount of ongoing cases.

Yep. parole boards typically have all kinds of power to lock or loose, and about no accountability. But what accountability there is is to politicians who see losing votes due to letting bad guys go as the only likely downside. Not much to lose by keeping guys in, regardless of circumstances.
