Videos of police misconduct went viral. Then what happened?

This was too ironic.

Chicks you inadvertently sent me on a tear of watching videos on the Frontline youtube channel.

Last night I re watched their piece on AI and it goes into great depth on what China is currently doing and its absolutely crazy. Tech is ingrained with society and facial recognition / social analytics is king over there.

Then I read this piece this morning.

https://www.npr.org/2020/06/24/88268...rest-in-michig

Clearly the computer isnt racist but OMG the cops handled this TERRIBLY. To make an arrest on that alone and be so flagrant about it. Wow... Well it blew up in their faces.

I knew this tech was being used here in the states. Has been for while but no where near China levels. And it will continue to be used and at greater depth over time. But as this story shows we have a long way to go ironing out the procedure.

For those who are not up on this tech and the levels its already at in China check out the Frontline piece. It did a great job IMO. And its only a matter of time that it gets somewhat like that here. They simply take things WAY too far with their social scoring system. Police state run a muck IMO.

Ha. I love both your retooled slogans.

This really is scary crap IMO. And will become the future of how things go in one way or another.

When things get hammered out will it result in a more just and fair system? I have no clue.

The way that man got arrested in his own front yard and arrogantly hauled off. I couldnt help but be reminded of the film Brazil. An absolute masterpiece by Terry Gilliam. A dark comedy showcasing the disconnect of society in an automated soulless system.

Messed up.

Buttle, not Tuttle!

One of my all time favorite movies. I owned it on Laserdisc.

Like.

This hints at why I'd want to have coffee with pretty much anyone here (even Chicks).

George Floyd's death was 'murder' and the accused officer 'knew what he was doing,' Minneapolis police chief says

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/mi...rnd/index.html

"Mr. George Floyd's tragic death was not due to a lack of training -- the training was there. Chauvin knew what he was doing," Arradondo said in a statement.

"The officers knew what was happening -- one intentionally caused it and the others failed to prevent it. This was murder -- it wasn't a lack of training," Arradondo said.
