That's interesting. I have a friend that does not side with the protesters and BLM, but he also doesn't side with the cops. The reason? In his younger days he had bad experiences with the cops and, yes, being beat up for doing absolutely nothing wrong. But he's lilly white. Cops, like all people, can act badly. Some do it for racial reasons, some do it because they are frustrated watching perps get off, and some are just bullies.

And race is just one of many excuses that they can use to justify it. And if the cop's precinct is in a predominantly black neighborhood, who's he gonna beat up? Black people.

As with all issues like this, it's not about the whole organization. It's about clearing out the bad apples. And if the police are not doing that, it's on the Chief. And if he keeps his job anyway, it's on the mayer. And THAT is on the voters.

You want change in these areas? Do it in the voting booth. Don't burn down your own house.

Thanks to employment discrimination, redlining, etc, it tends to be someone else's house. And the burning seems largely down to the umbrella men and boogaloo boys anyway.
