I don't hate the military.

Just the Air Farce, and they're not the real Military.

Tell that to those on the receiving end of their bombs.

I'm all for bringing back the draft, but not like it was during Vietnam, where the brunt of it's impact was on working class kids.

For example, I went to my pre-induction physical from Gainesville Florida, a University Town. There were 88 of us on that Bus. Many of them college kids from upper middle class and above backgrounds.

When the day was over and they put the ones of us that had passed and were going to be 1-A into a room, there were 22 of us. And pretty much all of us were kids from poor and working class backgrounds. Most of the kids from the more well to do backgrounds had parents that were connected and they had somehow managed to get out fit.

If there's going to be a draft, it has to be one with no exceptions. Your number comes up, you go, period. In fact what I really support is universal military service.

That's my qualifications to talk about the Air Farce.

What are yours?

Yeah, the handful of Air Farce people that are in combat kill from 15,000 feet, then fly back to the base that night and eat a steak dinner at the "O" club. Some fucking warriors they are.

Apparently your time in the military didn't teach you a whole lot.

Too bad.

You are forgetting much. One thing you are forgetting is these guys:

You know--the PJs? The ones the Special Forces call when they get into trouble?

I managed and/or consulted on construction projects on Army and Air Force bases all over the world for twenty years. I've been to Air Force bases you've likely never heard of and have certainly never been to (Shemya, AK, for example). It's certainly true that Air Force bases are nicer and have better facilities than Army bases for the most part, but many are in Gawd-awful places (e.g., Shemya and Clear, AK; Minot and Grand Forks, ND). FWIW, my son currently works at Offutt AFB south of Omaha. FWIW, I've been to pretty much every Army and Air Force base in the US and dozens overseas and lived on or around Army bases in Japan, Germany and the US.

Dude, I know far more about the US military than you'll ever hope to know having been an Army brat and having worked as a Dept of Army civilian for 20 years. Hell, I've written OER's for many an Army officer that worked for me. How many OER's have you written? I spent the first 40 years of my life living and working for and with the US military, 10 times as much as you have.
