This is just the sort of accusation that could be devastating to Trump--if it were to stick. Trump would be utterly violating the nationalistic values he has been mobilizing for support, if he turned out to be, in effect, aiding America's foreign enemies.
But there is no 'smoking gun' type evidence here, so it won't stick much.

Maybe if they catch him in a "hot mic" moment, telling the Ruskies he'll have more room to maneuver after the election.

Well, making favorable arrangements with the Russians hasn't hurt Clinton. Why would it hurt Trump?
