The only one who could legitimately be called an "ally" of Clinton is David Brock. He's running one of Clinton's SuperPacs and sits on the board of another.

Brock is a former right wing attack dog who made his bones writing fact-free books and articles smearing Anita Hill and the Clintons while he was working for Richard Mellon Scaife.

During that time, he revealed himself to be utterly without scruples and willing to destroy people's lives for political purposes. At some point, though, he had a sort of "Come To Jesus Moment" and switched sides. Perhaps it was the realization that he was working for people who would never truly accept him owing to his homosexuality.

But, really, he's the same guy he always was. He's just playing for the other team these days but, that said, the Clinton "team" is a little pissed off at Brock right now for the very thing you've brought up plus some rumor mongering about Bernie's age and health. They told him to back off but, since campaigns can't legally coordinate with SuperPacs, we may see more shit from Brock.
