The short answer would be 'imaginary.'

Basically, their cause is to lead resistance against the evil Federal Government and its plans to enslave us all.

They were less than vague elsewhere in their statement when they said that they were looking to "return the land to the people" or words to that effect, giving them free access for logging, mining, etc, without "interference" from the Feds.

I would agree that this would be a good time for their "movement" to die but I don't think that any time is a good time for anyone to die. Wonder how many of these patriots are on social welfare programs? How else could they take time off to fight an imaginary war and become heroes? Or do they get financial support from shadow right wing groups? It would be interesting to find out.
