The permitting process in Florida is pretty intense. I would use that as a model for the country. Yet gunowners line up to get them. Because they want the legal legitimacy they provide.

That "intense" process gave us George Zimmerman.

Anyway, you'll NEVER get the "patriots" to agree to any permitting process controlled by ZOG.

I think we would have much less gun violence if we issued more permits to law abiding citizens.

Oh, and by the way, I very seldom go heeled myself.

I think we would have much less gun violence if...who am I kidding? I don't think we will have much less gun violence in my lifetime.

There just isn't any way to dispute that when looking at legitimate and verifiable data.
Guns = Violence.

The sheer number of guns in the United States (more than 3000000 rifles) is the problem. Guns are available everywhere, everytime, for everybody.

In my opinion from my other-side-of-the-big-pond-point-of-view this is the basic problem, a problem which will never be solved. We have to live with this problem, we will have to get used to it. This is a very depressing fact.

The crime rate for Concealed Carry Permit holders is much much lower than it is for the general population.

Now, to clarify, while I am in favor of issuing permits, I am very much against the proliferation of these stupid assed stand your ground laws. They are nothing more than a license to escalate.

Maybe we should change from concealed carry permits to competency permits?

I can not remember - in my town, in this country - ever thinking like I do now, having elevated levels of suspicion and feeling like I have to have eyes in the back of my head.

I do not want to live where I have to carry a gun all the time.

My wife is a college professor - everyone is shooting up universities - yes, I'm feeling great these days.

Too often I hear that there is no way we can control gun ownership in our country.

I just don't think that is true.

We could if we wanted to.
We could if lobbyists like the NRA didn't have politicians by the b@lls.
