A Florida grandfather was killed in front of his wife, daughter and grandson when a spell of road rage turned deadly, deputies said — and the terrifying shooting was caught on two harrowing 911 calls.

Robert Doyle, 51, fatally shot Candelerio Gonzalez, 44, Thursday night after the two squabbled over lanes, Citrus County deputies said.

Doyle then held Gonzalez’s sobbing wife, 8-year-old daughter and 7-year-old grandson hostage, refusing to let them near their dying patriarch as they screamed for help, a 911 recording from the shooting showed.

Both Doyle and Gonzalez’s wife, Cathy, called police before the Thursday road scuffle escalated and stayed on the lines during the gun attack, WFTS reported.

Doyle was driving with his wife in their Kia Soul, while Gonzalez was driving in his lawn care truck with his family.

Each accused the other of being too belligerent on the road — and both families called 911 to report the other.

What I really don't get it the assholes who get pissed at you, so they pass you and then cut in front of you too close. I've seen this about twice, once recently. You must react fast and slow up or their tail end will clip you. Which would cause them to spin out of control.

So they get their revenge for some vehicular slight by placing their life in the hands of the person they're mad at. I think we have some evolving to do here....
