I got some 80 LP's and some 40 CD's, a couple of bootlegs are amongst them.

On 5/19/2015 I will be exactly as old as Frank was the day he died. This will be a very moving day for me.

Frank's art as a composer and as a musician means a lot to me. His music helped me very much on the afternoon when my father died. Beer and Frank's music all night long...

Anyway I think that I am not a fanatic, although pretty close to it. Being a fanatic (look into the faces of the people in the Riefenstahl documentaries) means that there is zero distance to the adored person. Frank was an overwhelming great person but he was also sometimes an asshole, as a lot of his former musicians reported. He was a human being. The Barking Monster was a deity to the millions of blinded disciples.

When I was in college, we started a chapter of Phi Zappa Krappa. The initiation consisted of drinking beer and listening to Frank. Here is a photo from one of the initiations:

In 1980 I took a photo of Frank during a concert. I'll try to find it and post it here. When he noticed that I tried a snapshot, I stood in the very first row, he pulled a face. I love him. Forever.

That's a great memento, Chris!

I just got Civilization Phaze III not long ago, sort of a "prequel" to Yellow Shark. I like it a lot (but not quite as much as Yellow Shark). Considering picking up Everything Is Healing Nicely too.

But listening to Frank's last works make me very sad when I consider what would have followed, had he lived.

"Everything Is Healing Nicely" is remarkable. There is a piece of music on it called "Nap Time". This is a little composition for small orchestra and alphorn. Beautiful, contemplative, even meditative. Simply beautiful. What a genius!

Thanks for the review, Chris! I just bought it.
