It's a privelege to be able to have this discourse with this group. No offense noted or taken.

What is wrong if some folks want to spend their money collecting a historically significant document? I think it's a good thing if copies of Mein Kampf remain in existence in perpetuity, lest future generations deny the motivations/practices of the Third Reich.

The autograph copies HK referenced price is due to Hitler's celebrity, not their historical significance. I wonder what a clean copy is worth?

There are plenty Mein Kamph extant to ensure the future knows if it wants.

The edition that Chris mentioned at the start of this thread is an annotated one which will offer some context and historicity to Hitler's writing. I do think this is preferable to, or an important adjunct to, the original.

Autographed copies are for fanboys.... fanboys of the worst sort, IMO.

Thanks for the memory jog.

In a way Germany became fanboys gone wild under the Nazi regime.

I am a FRANK ZAPPA fanboy of the worst sort.

I payed a fucking big bunch of money for a signed copy of Hot Rats, signed by the freaky French fiddler Jean-Luc Ponty and Frank. By the way - 98% of the Frank Zappa autographs are fakes. See also

It's in German, but enjoy the nice pictures...

If you got a signature of the Barking Monster - being ready to pay a lot of money for it - you appreciate and glorify him at least in a way - this is my opinion.

And in this case it helps that the album on which the signature appears is a work of genius.
