Baggers will fall in line with the propaganda, blame Obama and vote against their interest.

In order to get the stipend you have to use it to buy Health Insurance. So what will happen is that they will take the $500 and buy the policy that they can afford. That will be a $500 a month shit policy that has a $10,000 a year deductible. Therefore they will never be able to afford to use it.

Well that's gonna have to include a whole pile of our allegedly progressive brethren TJ. I expect right-wingjobs and conservatives to be opposed to anything that will help the financially disadvantaged, minorities and women. But what's keeping us from single-payer are Democrats and liberals in the electorate who oppose single payer because they're just comfy and cozy with their employer sponsored health coverage and afraid their fucking tax bill might go up. Democrat politicians know it and if they're a Senator from a state, or from a US House district where they know supporting single-payer will cost them votes they'll fight it just as hard as Congressional Republicans.

I suppose that's true of a lot of Democrats that have employer sponsored insurance, but it's also true of Republicans that have it.
Either way, I don't care.
They are still Enemies of America as far as I am concerned.
The way I see it If they lose it, it will increase the pressure for single payer.

A bit extreme but this is the only way I'd support the premise of the thread title. Otherwise it's just a feeding frenzy for those offering essentially worthless health insurance.

I remember being in the waiting room of a Doctors office one time and a woman came up to the front desk to check out and the girl behind the desk said "It's going to be $435 for today." And the woman smiled and said " I just bought some insurance since the last time I was here, and I'm sure glad I did!" and she proudly handed over her card. So the girl behind the desk ran it through the computer and when she was finished she said, "After the deductable, it's going to be $435 for today".
That's the kind of insurance you get when you buy one of these so called "affordable" plans.
"Affordable" being a euphemism for "shit".

BAM!
This is exactly how it is.
You pay the premium, a co pay, a deductible and a %.
Yes, % plus copay now. You just can't make this stuff up.

I pay $105 a month for Medicare Part B and $360 a month for BCBS PPO which kicks in as a secondary after Medicare pays what it is going to. I don't have Medicare prescription coverage because the $360 a month to BCBS PPO includes prescription coverage and it's better.
So a total of $465 a month to cover my ass and I'm on Medicare. And I still have additional out of pocket co-pays.

We're trying this BCBS Medicare Advantage Choice Plus PPO program this year. It's got some copays for doc visits, ER and hospitalizations...the max yearly out of pocket is $3400 if you get really sick and spend a bunch of time in the hospital. But it includes prescription coverage and it's $66.00/mo., plus the $105 to Medicare. BCBS is the primary and we don't use Medicare and as I understand it, the government subsidizes it with funds from Medicare premiums.
We're both in fine shape so we think it's a pretty good bet we're coming out ahead as long as our health holds.
