A great article.

One comment brings up the case of Germany, which has an economy that appears to continue to be able to offer broad-based prosperity. That poster attributes this to continued 'new deal' policies laid down at the time of the Marshall Plan. HarmanKardon, are you reading? Is this accurate in your view?

he also traded NY cost-of-living for North Carolina's. But I agree he'd have been better off keeping the MTA job, and sending $ south and visiting a lot.

Mr. Greens individual choices, in hindsight, aren't really the point however.

True!

However, as a New Yorker I am well aware as to how prized the benefit laden
MTA job is.

I applaud Mr Green for his commitment to his family. I sincerely hope his family is appreciative.

It is ironic that we have reduced tremendously our manufacture in favor of especially China; a country which we view somewhat adversarially.

BTW Bob thanks for the link. This was a very interesting read.

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Especially if it is lucrative and profitable. Damn the consequences.
