That pretty much sums up my POV. Democrats in Congress are feckless and worthless. However, today's Republicans, particularly the Tea Party and the NeoCons, do indeed endanger the nation.

Just walked in the door from a 6AM-8PM + an hour and a half slog at the polls out here in SoCal. I've got my tired old dogs up on the bed and a bourbon and lemonade on the nightstand for my aching back. Too tired at this point to give a shit. I think I'll watch me some Jon Stewart and see how it all sorts out in the morning.

One thing that won't surprise is that the 'pubbies will self immolate for the next two years and then they'll suck hind tit in '16.

I was surprised by this election.
I thought Republicans would win, but not quite this much.

One can argue the philosophy of the Democrat Party forever, the problem is that it simply doesn't work if you want a strong economy for simple reasons. It is pie in the sky.

For the time being people have demonstrated that they realize that either by voting Republican or just not voting.

How does this explain Bush and his popularity? Look at how he left the nation when he exited.

I don't think its' the economy. The economy is doing just fine. The people respond to fear and lies. They believe anything told to them and that's how they vote.

You think Brownback campaigned on his record? His record is dismal. He never mentioned his record or what he intends to do in the future in his campaign. He's bankrupted the state and given a free ride to the upper class. (yes, a two class system where only the lower classes pay taxes and the upper class profits from those taxes) His campaign was entirely about linking his opposition to Obama (in Kansas that translates to "that Ni@@er in the white house), and instilling fear. The republicans have been on and on about how bad it is under Obama, the people have forgotten how much worse it was under Bush.

And the people at the bottom who are struggling still haven't figured out that it's the republicans who keep them there.

Am I saying we're a nation of idiots? Well, for the most part, yes.
