Glad I'm not a cop. Seen my family ( alot of them are cops ) deal with all kinds of nuts and sometimes it is all a cop can do to hold it in when they have to arrest someone for raping a child under the age of 11 and incest to boot. I believe we need more people to try their hand at being a cop before judging them in general.
Well then, I can see you not liking his behavior, but I can't see this claim that it constitutes a mighty 'race card' that prevents the enforcement of otherwise enforceable ordinances.

I am unaware that there is a draft for LEOs so I guess I failed to register when I came down. I always thought people joined of their own volition.

Very true, Rob. But someone has to do it. Maybe the folks that complain about us needing better cops should try to make a difference by becoming one. But beware, the job isn't all about drinking coffee and eating donuts.

No job is Dave, and it seems like even private citizens can get shot at these days. I will say that I find people these days are pretty much all running with a damn short fuse.

Yep, I agree. And I also agree that there are some bad cops out there too. There is a sheriff not far from me that is going to court because people want him ousted. That's the correct way to deal with a situation. Starting a riot would have gotten them nowhere.

Police departments report to whom? There in lies the problem.

A crooked department can be brought down, in a legal manner. See my post about folks wanting to oust a sheriff.

A local town admin was unseated and prosecuted by the State AG here for rampant corruption some years ago. Bell California is cleaned up from rampant corruption. A New Mexico sheriff once considered untouchable is just recently unseated and charged.
It can happen

Sort of what I was trying to point out. It usually comes to this, an entire department needing to be brought down mainly due to the fact that there is no ongoing accountability.
