Let's try this;
"A call from a convenience store alerted a patrolman to the area where he observed an individual in the road nearby matching the description in the road. Contact with said individual resulted in a violent confrontation where shots were fired NY the officer."
How difficult was that?

I think the Police are full of shit.

If this was the real reason they stopped Brown they would have said so on day one, not six days later.

I suspect they have spent the last six days working on trying to come up with something to make themselves look good.

And even in the remot chance that this is true, best case scenario for the Police is they shot a kid for shoplifting six cigars.

Prediction: the injuries suffered by the cop will be to his arms and face resulting from trying to pull Brown into his patrol vehicle. If I was being pulled through a window I might take a few swings at the person myself.

The department has no hard evidence either audio or video supporting the cop. Otherwise they would broadcast it to the world right now. Maybe later on today they will release this evidence but I do not think they have it. For that reason alone the Police Chief should be fired. Are there Missouri state laws or local Ferguson police department rules concerning cameras and audio documentation? If so why are they not being used?

Let's not forget that the Feds are all over this. We should get the truth.

If anyone actually saw this Police Chief on TV you can tell he is sort of out of his league.
I do not think he linked Brown to the robbery. He just sort of said that Wilson was responding to an ambulance call and a robbery just before the time Brown was killed.
He is trying to set the theme that Wilson was busy and under stress. He did not really say that Brown was a suspect in the cigar theft. You have to actually watch the press conference.

This is an interesting but suspiciously late development, the linking of Mike Brown to the convenience store robbery. If this is why Officer Darren Wilson (the now identified shooter) confronted Brown and his companion, you would think Wilson would have reported that right away, and it would have been included in the police media statement right away.

"The Truth" appears to be that the deceased was a 300 lbs thug suspected of stealing merchandise through intimidation.

This gets better and better... (sigh)

Paraphrased from earlier in the thread: "A call from a convenience store alerted a patrolman to the area where he observed an individual matching the description in the nearby road. Contact with said individual resulted in a violent confrontation where shots were fired."

That appears to be the direction we're going, evidence based.
